Bow River Tying Nights

We are trying a new fly tying series for 2017. This series of classes will focus on flies for the Bow River. Participants can sign up for one night only OR any combination of the sessions. Classes are $25 each or opt in on all 5 for $100. Each week we’ll be focusing on a different set of proven Bow river patterns as outlined below. Classes start on Thursday, February 23 and run on consecutive Thursdays (except March 9 which is the night of this year’s F3T at Canyon Meadows)

Week 1 February 23  - This session will focus on “The Basics”

  • a few different San Juan Worms
  • Pheasant Tail
  • Beadhead Caddis

Week 2 March 2 Stonefly night

  • Chenille Stone (Jimmy Legs)
  • Woven Stone
  • Skid Bitch Foam Fly

Week 3 March 16 – Blood Sucker Night!

  • Peacock Leech
  • Aaron’s BT Leech
  • Pine Squirrel Leech

March 23 – Week 4 – Streamer Central

  • Bow River Bugger
  • Clouser Minnow
  • Skiddish Smolt

March 30 – Week 5 – Dries (oh to Dream….)

  • CDC Elk Caddis
  • Green Drake Extenda-body
  • Parachute Adams

Course fee includes materials for flies tied each night. Students need to supply all their own tools and vise as well as basics like thread.
