The “Imi-Truder” by Aaron Caldwell - December 3, 2009
I have been tinkering with this fly for the last while. I haven’t fished it yet but I’m looking forward to trying it out. Earlier this fall we received a sample of new material at the shop called Baitfish Emulator. I thought of steelhead intruders right away. When we received our assortment of colors the ”Imi-truder” fly immediately started coming together for me. I wanted to have a fly with the appearance of the intruder without all the expensive materials. Something that appeared large but didn’t have a lot of water-absorbing materials in it. What came from the initial idea was a fly somewhere between a steelhead marabou fly, a trailer trash fly, and an intruder. Color combos are endless and I look forward to trying some of the earthtone colors on the Bow.
