Fish Tales Fly Shop's After Hours Presentations Series is back! The goal of these presentations is to share information, provide tying demonstrations, and grow knowledge within our Calgary area fly fishing community. 

Prior to Covid, we held these sessions in-store on Sunday afternoons. We will now be hosting these seminars outside of our regular store hours, once a month from November through April. (Additional topics/dates may be added.)

Presentations are free BUT please register through the links provided for any of the sessions with limited attendance that you plan to attend. 

Unless otherwise noted sessions will start at 7 p.m. and last up to 2 hours.   

Session Seven - Drift boat introduction (Graves Landing/Glenmore.) 

Monday, April 29, 2024 at Graves Landing boat launch - Never been near or in a drift boat? Thinking about a guided trip or just want an introduction to fishing from a drift boat? Then join us for this riverside chat about all things drift boat.... Terry will touch on safety, boat etiquette, boat launch etiquette, and more. Whether you're the one on the oars or the one casting a line, we'll give you some tips for your next time you're drifting a river. 

Session Eight - Pike on the Fly with Jean Ducharme

Monday, May 6, 2024 - 7 p.m. at the shop - Join us for this session focused on everything pike. Jean is a long-time friend of the shop, an avid tyer, and a passionate pike angler. During this session he will review pike tackle, flies, and techniques. This will be a great introduction or refresher to fishing Southern Alberta Reservoirs for the upcoming pike season.

Session Nine - Lake fishing with Kelly Zamiski

Thursday, May 9, 2024 - 7 p.m. at the shop - Interested in some tips to improve your lake fishing game this season. Join Kelly for this session when he'll be focusing on some of his favorite patterns and tactics for lakes. Whether you are new to the chironomid game or looking to expand your ability to read stillwater this session will be beneficial. Kelly is a commercial tyer focused on proven patterns for lakes.
